A Buffalo Parks employee accused of stabbing a pit bull that was being walked by its owner faces criminal charges and may be fired.
Police spokesman Michael DeGeorge said Monday that city officials are reviewing the allegations against 46-year-old James Craddock and plan to seek his termination.
Police say a woman was walking her dog on Mineral Springs Road and Frank Avenue in South Buffalo Saturday morning when Craddock got out of a city vehicle, exchanged words with the woman and then stabbed the dog in the chest. The dog is recovering.
Craddock, a seasonal city employee, is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. Craddock could not be reached for comment Monday.
