Jeremy Nash, the Rochester Police officer who was shot and wounded Saturday night, has been released from the hospital.
“On behalf of the entire Rochester Police Department, I would like to thank everyone for all of their support, prayers and kind words during this difficult time," said Chief Michael Ciminelli. "We are also very grateful to the medical staff at Rochester General Hospital for the medical care and support they provided.”
RPD officials said Nash has a long road of recovery ahead of him. After the incident on North Street late Saturday night, Ciminelli said Nash had been shot “near the face,” but was not more specific about the injury.
The investigation is ongoing. There is no word of any suspects.
