Former auto dealer comptroller sentenced for stealing $4.1M

Orchard Park Police

The former Comptroller for Towne Auto Group has been sentenced for stealing $4.1 million from her company.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office said Billie Becker, 55, of East Aurora has been sentenced to 4-12 years in prison on charges of grand larceny in the first degree and criminal tax fraud in the third degree.

Prosecutors say between May 2009 and November 2016, Becker wrote checks to pay for personal bills and wired money from the company into her personal bank accounts. Becker claimed she used the money to help care for the Dressage horses she owned and for online video games.

Becker has made more than $1 million in restitution and has been ordered to continue paying back the money starting two months after her release from prison. She also owes New York State more than $256,000 in taxes on the stolen money.
