Buffalo Police Department

A man is in custody after a standoff in South Buffalo on Sunday morning.

Buffalo Police responded to a call about a domestic incident at a residence on Duerstein Street involving a boyfriend and girlfriend at 10 a.m. Police say the boyfriend physically assaulted the woman and barricaded himself in the house possibly armed with a gun. Buffalo SWAT and the Hostage Management Team were on the scene.

Just after noon the standoff ended without incident. The suspect believed to be in his mid 30's surrendered to police. He was taken to ECMC for evaluation and is in police custody with pending charges.
