Third Kingsmen member convicted

Another member of the Kingsmen Motorcycle Club is facing jail time for participating in what authorities say was an organized crime ring under guise of the club. The U.S. Attorney's Office says 32-year-old Ryan Myrtle of Buffalo has pleaded guilty to RICO conspiracy, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Tripi says Myrtle admitted to being a member of the Kingsmen, which engaged in drug dealing, firearms sales, prostitution and other crimes and protecting its territory through violence.

Specifically, Tripi says Myrtle was involved in the forcible shutdown of the Springville Kingsmen Club, as well as a 2012 drive-by shooting ordered to retaliate against a former club member. Myrtle is one of 16 defendants arrested in this case and the third to be convicted. Charges are pending against the remaining 13 defendants.
