Stevenson double-murder charges go to grand jury

A man charged with killing a woman and her 7-year-old son inside their Cheektowaga apartment has waived his right to a felony hearing. A grand jury will now hear the case.

Shane Stevenson waived the hearing in Cheektowaga Town Court on Wednesday.

Police say the bodies of 30-year-old Raina Voll and her son, Leo Klinger, were found inside the Kingswood Apartment complex last week after Voll's 2-year-old child was found in a stroller a short distance away.  Stevenson is not the father of either child.

Police say the killings occurred during a "domestic situation.'' No word on a possible motive. An investigation is ongoing.

Stevenson pleaded not guilty to murder charges last week. He remains jailed without bail.
