Buffalo woman charged in 33-year-old murder case
A Buffalo woman has been arraigned on charges he killed a 92-year-old WWI veteran more than three decades ago. The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Saundra Adams - now 50 years old - pleaded not guilty before Erie County Court Judge David Foley in the death of Purple Heart awardee Edmund Schreiber back in 1983.
The DA contends Adams and an unknown accomplice broke into Schreiber's Hastings Avenue home in Buffalo. No motive was given for the murder.
Prosecutors say DNA evidence found on the neckties used to bound and strangle Schreiber was key to making the arrest 33 years later. Adams was remanded to jail without bail.
