A 27-year-old man will spend 35 years in prison after pleading guilty for kidnapping and torturing two University of Rochester students last December.
Jesus Castro-Ubiles was one of nine people charged for the crime. The two students were seniors who authorities say fell victim to mistaken identity. The victims were held hostage in a Rochester home and one of the victims was shot.
Castro-Ubiles admitted to weapons counts. He will be sentenced in October. Charges are still pending against the remaining eight co-defendants.
