OP Police issue warning after rash of thefts

Orchard Park Police Department

Orchard Park Police are warning area residents to lock their homes and vehicles, in the wake of some 50 burglaries and larcenies over the last two weeks.

Police say the latest incident was on Henning Drive. On the way to the home, responding officers saw a vehicle running in the driveway of another home on Stonehenge Drive.

One man was seen exiting, then re-entering the vehicle, but he fled from police toward Southwestern Boulevard and has not been found. The vehicle was found later, burning at the end of Auckland Avenue. Police say it had been taken from an East Quaker Road home and is one of four vehicles reported stolen recently.

Police say all reports of stolen items have come from houses and vehicles that were unlocked. Some of the vehicles had keys in the consoles. Other items taken include cash, credit cards, cameras, computers and televisions.

Anyone with information is asked to call Orchard Park Police at 662-6444.
