Home invasion nets three suspects, guns, cash

Three people are in custody after a home invasion that led to shooting at Buffalo police. Police responded to a home invasion in the first block of Bruce Street near Englewood Avenue in the University District about 1:15 p.m. Monday. Police believe the home was targeted.

Officers began a foot chase upon arriving at the scene. During the chase, police said one of the suspects opened fire on them. Police did not say if they returned fire.

One suspect was arrested a short time later, while a second one was finally caught near a home on Winston Road, near Parkside Avenue. A third suspect, possibly the getaway driver, was also taken into custody.

In addition to the three suspects, police recovered two handguns and a large sum of money. About 20 officers took part in the pursuits.
