Wiretaps in fomer NYS senate leader's trial suggests ill intent

Dean Skelos
New York State Senate
Dean Skelos

The latest in the trial of former New York State senate leader Dean Skelos has jurors listening to wire taps involving Skelos and his adult son Adam.

Jurors in the Manhattan federal court heard recordings of the Republican and his co-defendant son talking political strategy in what some have called a personal and crude way. Prosecutors say the recordings show the two conspiring to secure the son $300,000 in fees from several companies in exchange for favors from Albany. The defense says Skelos was behaving like any father would by looking out for his son.

Closing arguments are anticipated to be held next week.
