Amherst Police Detectives are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide in the Ransom Oaks subdivision.
Family members checking on the welfare of a loved one made a tragic discovery in Amherst over the weekend. A woman and her live-in boyfriend were found dead in the home they shared on Ransom Oaks Drive.
Amherst Police detectives say it was an apparent murder-suicide. Police believe 53-year-old Richard Dux shot his 55-year-old girlfriend Ellen Zingaro and then took his own life.
Amherst Police are investigating.
