Nearly 70 people were called as potential jurors in Jeffrey Basil's murder trial Monday morning as the judge and attorneys in the case began narrowing the pool. Basil, the manager of the now closed Molly's Pub in Buffalo, is accused of pushing William Sager Jr., 28, down a flight of stairs inside the bar early on the morning of on May 11. Several months later, Sager died from his severe brain injuries.

Basil, 36, is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and evidence tampering.

Judge Penny Wolfgang told the potential jurors the high-profile trial could last two-to-three weeks.

UPDATE: By the end of the day Monday, no jurors had been selected.
