Hostage situation on Buffalo's east side

A domestic incident call on the city's East Side turned into a hostage situation just before noon, on Sunday.  Buffalo Police responded to the 200 block of Leroy Avenue, where a woman with a gun was holding a handful of relatives - including young children - captive inside the home.Officers and negotiators were able to bargain for the release of all but one of the relatives.  During the incident, the suspect suffered a self-inflicted wound, immediately after which SWAT entered the home and cleared the scene.  The woman, in her early 30s, was taken to Erie County Medical Center with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.  Police say no other injuries were reported, and the case remains under investigation.
