Soccer coach accused of having sex with 12-year-old girl

Cheektowaga Police have charged a soccer coach with allegedly having sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl.

Assistant Police Chief Jim Speyer says the accused, 27-year-old Caleb Sexton of Lancaster, initially met the girl at Hedstrom Baptist Church on Losson Road and later developed a relationship with her on Facebook before ultimately meeting her at the church several times where the incidents took place.

The girl eventually confided in her mother, who called authorities. Speyer says their concern now is there may be other victims.

"Our main concern here is the health and safety and well-being of our children. We want to make sure that this doesn't happen to anybody else. If there's anybody that has any further information, any other victims of his, we want to know about it," Speyer told WBFO.

Sexton is charged with criminal sexual act, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. Anyone with information on the man is asked to call the Cheektowaga Police detective bureau.

At the time of his arrest, Police say Sexton was the coach of a boy's soccer team at West Seneca Christian School on Union Road in West Seneca.
