Two nursing home workers charged with patient neglect

Two nursing home workers in Buffalo have been arrested and charged with neglecting an elderly resident. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says two nurses' aides at the the former Erie County Medical Center Skilled Nursing Facility face numerous charges for allegedly violating the resident's care plan and then falsifying business records.

According to the complaint, a hidden camera was used to document the actions of Donna Laury, 48, and Nakeia Green, 35. They are accused of improper care of a 79-year-old female resident who suffers from Alzheimer's disease and dementia when it came to transfers and incontinence care. ECMC Corporation assisted in the investigation.

The ECMC center is now known as Terrace View Long Term Care Facility. It is unclear when the alleged neglect occurred.

The workers face various felony and misdemeanor charges including Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person and Willful Violation of Public Health Laws.
