Authorities say four men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion that left a Southern Tier couple dead.

Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace says Gordon Skinner, 66, and Joyce Skinner, 59, were found dead Wednesday morning in their burning home in the rural town of Carroll, along the Pennsylvania border south of Jamestown.

The suspects were arrested today in Elmira, where at least three of them live.  Gerace could not say how the Skinners were killed, but noted it was the most troubling home invasions he has seen.

"It, to me personally, was a very disturbing crime," Gerace told WBFO News.

Gerace says the situation was "not a random act", but could not discuss details. The suspects and are being held for arraignment. They are identified as Davide Coggins, 34, Ricky Knickerbocker, 18, Steven Todd, 18, and Joshua McCormick, 21.

Gerace says only Coggins has a criminal history. He is asking anyone with additional information about the crime to contact his office.
