Police: Niagara Falls man commits murder-suicide

Police in Niagara Falls say a man appears to have killed his girlfriend, then himself, in a house on 29th Street Monday night.  Authorities say Peter Daniels, 37, and Elizabeth Wilson, 31, were found dead around 7:30 p.m Monday by family members of Daniels.  Police believe Daniels slashed Wilson's throat and then fatally shot himself in the head at their home on 548 29th Street.

Authorities were called after a gunshot was heard by the man's mother, who lived across the street. Large pools of blood were found at the scene. Both were pronounced dead on arrival.

The motive for the murder-suicide is unknown.  Neither individual had a criminal record and there was no history of domestic violence.
