The president, chairman and CEO of Northwest Bank died unexpectedly Tuesday.

Ronald Seiffert, 65, died of natural causes, after becoming president and chief operating officer in 2017. He later became chairman.

Northwest Bank is headquartered in Columbus, OH, after being based in Warren, PA for decades. It was founded in Bradford in 1896.

Northwest has 170 branches in four states and entered the Buffalo Niagara region in 2016 by acquiring 18 First Niagara Bank branches.

William Harvey Jr., Northwest Bank's chief financial officer, has been named interim president and CEO in the wake of Seiffert's passing. Timothy Fannin was named interim chairman.
