The door of New York's economy creaks open a little more Wednesday, with non-Indian gambling slowing starting up again under new state rules.
All gaming places were shut down when the long lockdown started. Seneca Gaming began a partial reopening in June and the Nation's three casinos remain open on a limited basis. However, neither Hamburg Gaming nor Batavia Downs Gaming has been open until now.
Both reopen at lower operating levels and all social distancing rules apply, along with mask requirements. Hamburg will not have any food or beverage available, but Batavia will have some, although not on the gaming floor. Both facilities said they will have enhanced cleaning procedures and more cleaning staff.
Batavia Downs gaming is part of Western Region Off-Track Betting. Delaware North owns Hamburg.
