Senecas announce casino reopening dates

The Seneca Nation of Indians has announced a staged reopening of its Class II and Class III gaming operations.

On June 18, operations will resume at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino, and at the Class II gaming properties in Irving, Salamanca, and Cuba. The Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino will reopen the following week, on June 25 and the Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino in Salamanca will welcome back patrons on Thursday July 2.

All gaming operations were suspended on March 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

All facilities will reopen at reduced capacity and curtailed schedules, with strict protocols to protect the health and safety of both guests and employees.

There are more than 4,000 workers who will be returning to work, and the economy will also benefit by the resumption of business with vendors, suppliers, and business partners.

More operational details are expected to be revealed by the Senecas on Tuesday, according to Seneca Nation President Rickey Armstrong.
