An Amherst retail fashion outlet has suddenly closed its doors.
Employees were surprised to learn over the weekend of the closing of Tony Walker and Company, the anchor store in its Walker Center plaza on Main Street.
Its parent company, the Advantage Company, said it will focus on its online operations, the Fashion Lab Showroom and International Sales Center.
Company executives said they will find jobs for the 37 workers elsewhere in the company.
The Advantage Company shut down its Stereo Advantage retail store, founded in 1978, in December, but continued its nationally operated Lifetime Service and Solutions Company.
