As the Western New York community gathers to celebrate Labor Day, the head of the region's AFL-CIO council looks at progress on several fronts.
Since last Labor Day, there were new contracts Wendt, Kaleida Health, and a successful organizing drive at Spot Coffee, marking one of the coffee shops nationwide to have a unionized workforce.
Workers from the Wendt Corp. marched as marshals in the area's Labor Day parade, after two years without a contract, a strike and several demonstrations this past year.
WNY AFL-CIO Labor Council President Richard Lipsitz reviewed recent labor developments with WBFO's Dave Debo.
