Despite a last-minute legal effort by Mensch Capital Partners to halt the proceedings, a public meeting was held Monday night, giving speakers a chance to offer their thoughts on a proposed development at the former Westwood Country Club. "The Amherst chamber was packed with people," Town of Amherst Supervisor Dr. Barry Weinstein told WBFO. "About 25 to 30 people spoke, most spoke in opposition."
