Dunkin' runnin' out on 13 local restaurants

In a surprise move, a local franchisee is closing half of its Dunkin' Donuts stores in Western New York, effective immediately.

Page Ventures says it was a difficult decision, but necessary to “create a leaner, more efficient business.” The Dunkin' franchisee has closed 13 of its 26 local restaurants "to strengthen and streamline their business," but says it remains committed to the Buffalo market.

The Dunkin' Donuts main corporation says the decision was simply one by the franchisee and it apologized for any confusion the closings may cause.

Page Ventures reminds customers that it is only one of three local Dunkin' Donut franchisees. More than three dozen restaurants remain open to coffee and baked goods lovers.
