Buffalo Niagara Enterprise rebrands with economic momentum in mind

“Invest Buffalo Niagara.” Those 3 words will be the rallying cry of advocates who are charged with marketing the region to new and expanding businesses.

Buffalo Niagara Enterprise is changing its name and adding this tagline: “Come grow your business with us.”

Tom Kucharski, president and CEO of Invest Buffalo Niagara, said the new brand identity recognizes the positive economic momentum that’s underway in the region.

“Invest Buffalo Niagara is exactly what we want to have happen,” said Kucharski. “We want these new companies to continue to invest in our region and create jobs, and we want the ones here to re-invest, and keep their home here and expand their operations.”

The group decided on the name after researching effective ways to highlight Western New York, which included discussion with several CEOs from across the country.

“Invest is an action word, and the simple invitation, ‘come grow your business with us,’ we thought, well, it’s not going to set the world on fire, but it is a very simple message that we think will resonate in the marketplace,” said Kucharski. “We didn’t overthink it.”

To continue the growth of the eight-county region, Kucharski wants residents to continue to talk up its economic rise.

“I think a key to a brand, a brand identity and carrying it forward is that not only that we promote it, but the community, as they talk to people, as they visit elsewhere, as they interact with other business folks, that they carry the pride and the message and the talking points of what’s going on in Western New York,” said Kucharski.

A new website is being created that will include tools to help businesses relocate or expand.
