On WBFO's Press Pass, Jim Fink of Business First says his publication's recent study indicates that nearly $16.6 billion in economic development projects are underway throughout the eight counties of Western New York.
Fink says there are currently 620 projects of at least $1 million underway throughout the region. They include the massive SolarCity project on the Buffalo River to smaller expansion projects at facilities around the area.
The Hilton Garden Inn opens Tuesday at the former Tishman Buiding, now known as 10 Lafayette Square. Fink says the hotel will cater to those working out of the Buffalo Convention Center, which is located just one block away.
Fink also provides an upbeat forecast for Fort Erie Race Track. At one time, it appeared to be heading down its final stretch; now, Fink says, the historic track appears ready for a resurgence.
