Uniland scales back on tax incentive request for Delaware North project

Uniland Development will submit a revised application for financial incentives to the Erie County Industrial Development Agency next week for its proposed Delaware North project.  Uniland is proposing to build a 12-story building with an attached parking ramp at Delaware and West Chippewa that would serve as the new corporate headquarters for Delaware North.

Uniland released a statement late Friday afternoon, saying the restructuring of the plan will reduce the need for financial assistance.

Uniland has been meeting with the ECIDA this week.  Earlier Friday, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz told WBFO News that talks have been taking place.

"What we're doing right now is discussing with both parties -- Uniland and Delaware North -- about what they would qualify for," Poloncarz said.  "We're in those discussions right now."

Delaware North's Jeremy Jacobs Junior insists the company is not threatening to leave Buffalo even though he acknowledges the company is receiving offers from other cities to relocate.
