The Cuomo administration is looking into creating a nanotechnology sector in Buffalo.
The state has issued a request for proposals from developers to build new facilities and partner with companies specializing in medicine, energy and other technologies.
WBFO's journalism partners at the Investigative Post are citing a source who says Governor Cuomo wants "to get this done ASAP."
The goal is creating as many as 1,500 to 2,000 new, high-paying jobs in this region.
A nano-tech initiative in Albany has grown in the past 12 years to include some 13-thousand jobs at more than 60 companies.
