Food plants in Dunkirk & Silver Creek to close, costing 375 jobs

Two food processing plants in Dunkirk and Silver Creek are slated to close, eliminating 375 local jobs. The Buffalo News reports St. Louis-based Ralcorp Holdings will close Carriage House Co. in Dunkirk and Petri Baking Products in Silver Creek in advance of the company's acquisition by ConAgra Foods. 

Workers were notified Thursday.  Work will be shift to other facilities in the U.S.  The factories are expected to shut down after 60 days. 

Ralcorp operations in Fredonia and the Town of Tonawanda will remain open.
