The temporary closure of the U.S.-Canada border to non-essential travel will continue for another month.
The original order limiting border travel in response to the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020 and has been extended multiple times over the course of the last year. It's latest extension was due to end April 21.
Announcement of the latest extension came from U.S. Customs and Border Protection yesterday. In a post on its website, the agency says the U.S. is cooperating closely with Canada to ensure that North America has a coordinated approach to combating the pandemic.
