Ford family posts video tribute to former Toronto mayor

robfordformayor.ca

The family of Rob Ford has posted a video tribute to the former Toronto mayor that features clips of supporters hugging him to the tune of Puff Daddy's music.

Set to a Puff Daddy song that was itself a tribute to murdered friend The Notorious B-I-G, the four-minute video posted on YouTube features clips of supporters hugging Ford while Faith Evans's voice from the track "I'll be Missing You" plays.

Dan Jacobs, Ford's chief of staff, says the video tribute was requested by his family and made by local filmmaker Tharanga Ramanayake.

Ford dropped out of the running for a 2014 re-election as mayor after he was diagnosed with cancer. During his preceeding tenure as mayor he gained worldwide notoriety over his admitted cocaine use, alcohol abuse and some eyebrow raising verbal gaffes.

Ford died this week of cancer at the age of 46. His funeral is set for Wednesday and includes a procession that will start at Toronto city hall and end at the church where services will be held.
