Officials and business owners from both sides of the border were in Buffalo Thursday discussing ways to boost the economy.
The conference was held by City and State - an insiders publication for government and politics. The magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Morgan Pehme said, trade between the state and Canada totals about $35 billion.
"One of the reasons that City and State opened our Buffalo bureau and is hosting this New York-Canada Summit...is because we felt like there was an inadequate understanding of the importance of the New York-Canada relationship in Albany. And because we have such a strong presence and such a strong influence, upon the legislature in Albany, we felt we could bring attention to this discussion."
Topics included cross-border business development, ways to improve tourism between the two countries, and easing delays at the border.
