New romantic comedy scouting location sites in WNY

Twitter

A new romantic comedy from Universal Pictures is scheduled to begin filming in the Buffalo area in April.

So far, the movie is known as "Untitled Romantic Comedy." It will be produced by filmmaker, actor and comedian Judd Apatow and directed Nicholas Stoller, known for the 2008  comedy "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and its 2010 sequel.

The film will star Billy Eichner, well-known for Funny or Die's "Billy on the Street" and TV shows like "American Horror Story."

Buffalo Niagara Film Commissioner Tim Clark, a regular contributor to WBFO's Press Pass, said the production company team has been in town scouting locations. Producers are looking for area residents to "portray members of the LGBTQ community, as well as other city residents."

More information is at the website gwci.app/talent.

Mark Wozniak, WBFO's local All Things Considered host, has been at WBFO since mid-1978.
