An enthusiastic sold-out audience turned out Saturday night for the first ever Jazzworks Live! concert at the WNED | WBFO studios in downtown Buffalo.

Headlining the evening was Jazzmeia Horn, a jazz vocalist who is being compared to Sarah Vaughan and Betty Carter.

Jazz Buffalo’s Tony Zambito reviews the concert.

Horn's latest album "Love and Liberation" was released in August and was reviewed last Tuesday on NPR's Fresh Air. Click here for jazz critic Kevin Whitehead's review.

Her Buffalo appearance is part of a national tour for the new album.

Opening act Saturday night was Buffalo's own Taylor Made Jazz.
