Falletta wins third Grammy award

Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra

JoAnn Falletta took home another trophy at Sunday's 61st Grammy Awards. The longtime music director of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra earned the third Grammy of her career for a recording with the London Symphony Orchestra.

Recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios and released in August, the award-winning work featured the music of composer Kenneth Fuchs. For Falletta, it was the 11th time she has been nominated for a Grammy award.

A graduate of St. Mary's of the Lake School, St. Francis High School and Buffalo State College, Jay has worked most of his professional career in Buffalo. Outside of public media, he continues in longstanding roles as the public address announcer for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League and as play-by-play voice of Canisius College basketball.
