Buffalo Music Hall of Fame guitarist Alyn Syms inspired by Roswell Park patients

Alyn Syms

Buffalo Music Hall of Fame Member and composer Alyn Syms is known for playing with Rick James and leading his own group, but for almost a decade he has quietly been performing for patients at Roswell Park. His newest project "Cyrano" is based on the time he's spent playing there. Syms shared some of his experiences at the cancer institute with WBFO's Nick Lippa .

Syms will be debuting "Cyrano" tomorrow night at the California Road Music Hall at 7:30 PM.

Cyrano is the second part of Syms' Black Forest Anthology.

Nick Lippa leads our Arts & Culture Coverage, and is also the lead reporter for the station's Mental Health Initiative, profiling the struggles and triumphs of those who battle mental health issues and the related stigma that can come from it.
