Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Music Director JoAnn Falletta appeared at the announcement. Falletta will play with the Buffalo Chamber Players at the first concert October 13th.

“What better place to celebrate music than in then in a sanctuary of beauty and creative innovation as this treasured Albright-Knox is,” declared Falletta as she appeared at Wednesday announcement at the Art Gallery.  “And I was thrilled to hear the building vibrating with music as they were warming up, just filled with the sound of music here.”

This will also mark the 10th anniversary for the chamber players. Artist director and violinist Janz Castello said their December 1st concert will featured a renowned Polish Composer.

“Penderecki’s music is heard on stages throughout the world and featured in many major films including Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining and William Friedkin, The Exorcist, so his music is very popular,” explained Castello.

"For the coming year we will be focusing our lectures on individual masterpieces in the Albright-Knox collection beginning with one of Gauguin's famous paintings and running up, chronologically, to the present day and a recent work by the African American artist Theaster Gates. These lectures are intended to bring to life works of art from the past as well as the present and connect the dots between the now and the then," said Joe Lin-Hill, Deputy Director at the Albright-Knox.
