Hispanic Heritage Month celebrated at Canalside

Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York

Hispanic Heritage month was celebrated on Buffalo's waterfront on Saturday.

Dozens turned out for an event at Canalside sponsored by the Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York, Goya Foods, and the Independent Health Foundation. It aimed to display diverse flavors and the history of Latin people.

Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York President Casimiro Rodriguez said it is a very unique display that focused on food and health.

The event included live music, food tastings, exhibits on healthy eating, and health screenings.

Avery began his broadcasting career as a disc jockey for WRUB, the University at Buffalo’s student-run radio station.
