Memphis star Billy The Kid headlines WBFO Buffalo Blues Bash

WNED/WBFO

The WBFO Buffalo Blues Bash takes place Saturday night at the WBFO/WNED studios. The opening band is Buffalo's own Tommy Z Band and the headliner is a finalist in the 2014 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Billy the Kid and the Regulators.  Saturday Night Blues Host Pat Feldballe spoke to Billy about what it means to finish in the top three at the blues challenge and what our audience will get to see and hear this weekend.

Headliners Billy the Kid and the Regulators are known as a high-powered rhythm and blues band based in Pittsburgh. Lead singer Billy Evanochko and his band deliver a well-balanced dose of funky rhythm and blues.

The Tommy Z Band, a local favorite, will open the popular event which is sponsored by WNED/WBFO Buffalo-Toronto. Tommy Z is a contemporary blues guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer.

The 2013 event was a sell-out, attracting more than 225 blues enthusiasts.

Tickets are $18 for WNED/WBFO members and $20 for advanced purchase. If the event isn't sold out, tickets will be available at the door for $25.

Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase when doors open at 6:15 p.m.

People interested in attending can learn more at wbfo.org, wned.org, call 1-800-678-1873 or click here to purchase tickets online.

Pat is a member of the Buffalo Broadcast Hall of Fame. He hosts WBFO's Weekend Blues Show from 7-11 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. to midnight Sunday.
