WBFO's Buffalo Blues Bash to feature national and local acts

WNED/WBFO

In its ongoing quest to lure top-performing acts while fostering local talent, WBFO's Buffalo Blues Bash will feature two respected bands when hundreds of blues fans gather in the WNED/WBFO studios Oct. 18.Headlining the second annual event will be Billy the Kid and the Regulators, a high-powered rhythm and blues band based in Pittsburgh. Lead singer Billy Evanochko and his band are known for delivering a well-balanced dose of funky rhythm and blues. The band was a finalist at this year's International Blues Challenge in Memphis.

The Tommy Z Band, a local favorite, will open the popular event which is sponsored by WNED/WBFO Buffalo-Toronto. Tommy Z is a contemporary blues guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer.

The 2013 event was a sell-out, attracting more than 225 blues enthusiasts.

"Last year's Buffalo Blues Bash was a huge success," said WNED/WBFO president and CEO Donald K. Boswell. "It's a testament to how deeply rooted blues music is in our community and we're thrilled to bring this event back again in 2014."

Tickets are $18 for WNED/WBFO members and $20 for advanced purchase. If the event isn't sold out, tickets will be available at the door for $25.
