The lineup for 10th annual Buffalo Infringement Festival was announced Tuesday evening. The festival is a free, non-profit event that allows people to perform in all art forms, including visual, musical, and media arts.The performances will take place at multiple venues in and around Buffalo’s Allentown District. Infringement Festival Technology Manager Dave Pape says the festival gives locals a platform to share their creative talents.
“A lot of the bands do actually perform in nightclubs. They often use Infringement as a place to try out something new, something that they’re not sure would work in a normal venue with a [paying] audience and they want to experiment. Others are people who are not part of that scene and this gives them that chance,” said Pape.
The performances include a lyrical delivery by MC Vendetta, Drums along Hoyt Lake, a solo performance by Chris Abbey, an interactive painting event called ‘Paint by Hoop’ and another show is about a man’s quest to find employment called ‘Cartoon Platoon.’
Vanessa Webb will be performing an interactive piece called The Regina Monologues. She says the performance discusses the life, loves and ‘virginity’ of Queen Elizabeth I.
“It is all historically based, but candid. It is basically an intimate evening with Queen Elizabeth Regina Gloriana, the first Queen Elizabeth, and she sets the record straight on things that people like to suppose and critique about history,” said Webb.
