Peacemakers: Serving jailtime for peace

A longtime expert on the peace movement is in Buffalo Thursday. Rosalie Riegle appears at D'Youville College for a 3 p.m. session with students in the college's Blue Lounge to discuss "Crossing Lines and Doing Time: The Many Voices of Social Justice." At 7 p.m. she appears at Canisius College to speak on "The Heart of the Peace Movement: Nonviolent Resisters Doing Time for Peace."Riegle is an author, professor and oral historian of nonviolent resisters who serve in jail-time for peace.  WBFO's Eileen Buckley met with Riegle to discuss her work.

Riegle has complied oral histories of more than 75 peacemakers discussing their fight against wars and staging civil disobedience. Riegle is the author of "Doing Time for Peace."
