Neglia Ballet Artists has been preparing for Giselle. The romantic, classical ballet will be performed at Shea's Performing Arts Center next Thursday evening for one show only.WBFO's Eileen Buckley says the ballet will feature an Argentina ballerina with live music by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Silvina Vaccarelli from Buenos Aires the lead role of Giselle. It is her favorite role, but Vaccarelli describes it as a physically and emotionally demanding to portray. She speaks through Sergio Neglia who interprets her response.

"She loves this role because it is very challenging and different parts of the ballet," said Neglia on behalf of Vaccarelli who speaks Spanish.  "It is her favorite, just loves it.  One of her favorites."

"I love it," said Vaccerelli.

Vaccarelli delivers a graceful Giselle, who easily glides across the Neglia studio's during rehearsals.

Vaccarelli is also principal dancer at the Colon Theater in Argentina, but often travels to Buffalo to partner with Neglia.

"And also she loves the states of the ballet," said Neglia. "It is a very young pure love from the girl part.  "It's a beautiful moment to express to the public and express that purity."

Giselle is the story of a peasant girl. with a passion for dance.   She meets and falls in love with a man named Albrecht, but he deceives Giselle when she learns he is engaged to another woman.  She dies from a broken heart.

Neglia plays the lead role of Albrecht described as a  complicated character.

"I feel my personally that whenever I go to stage, I create something new.  I always feel that way," said Neglia.

Assisting with the choreography of the ballet is Mario Galizzi.  He is a friend of Neglia also visiting from Argentina.

When Giselle dies she turns into a Willis, which is a spirit of a woman who was jilted by her lover, dying before she was married.

"During the two acts of the ballet passes from one side of the innocence," said Galizzi.  "It is dramatic...because it is a romantic ballet."

Galizzi finds this ballet more challenging to stage and choreograph than other ballets because he said it requires more dramatic acting.

"All the action is between two person, Giselle and Albrecht," said Galizzi.  "The more heavy thing are in two persons, not in the core."

"She like the role of Giselle because of all the innocence," said Galizzi on behalf of Vaccarelli.

Giselle -- a sad story and powerful story of innocence.
