Friday night was the final night of broadcasting for WNED, AM 970. The sale to a new owner has been finalized. Our programming will no longer be heard on AM 970. You'll need to tune in 88.7FM, WBFO.
AM 970 was once known as WEBR. It was the radio station where the Lone Ranger rode. WEBR was the home of Carroll Hardy's Jazz Central and Al Wallack's Jazz in the Nighttime. For 17 years, this station was home to the largest and best radio newsroom in the history of Buffalo broadcasting with WEBR Newsradio 970. WEBR was the Sound of the City!
To all of you who graced the airwaves of AM 970, thank you. Please know the legacy you built will live on as two great radio stations now truly become one at 88.7 FM, WBFO.
