Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass gets threats after missing important field goal

MICHEL MARTIN, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Michel Martin. Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass missed a field goal that would've tied last weekend's playoff game against Kansas City. The Bills had to settle for a 27-24 loss. Angry Bills fans directed so much abuse at Bass online that he deactivated his social media accounts. But after a cat adoption agency that Bass supported reminded their fans to give him some love, donations poured in - $150,000 so far. So football fans can be fickle, but cat lovers are constant. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
