Remembering Jordan And Andre Anchondo, Victims Of The El Paso Shooting

ARI SHAPIRO, HOST:

And now a moment to remember some of the victims from Saturday's shooting in El Paso. Jordan and Andre Anchondo went to Walmart with their 2-month-old son to buy school supplies and party decorations. Their older daughter was turning 6, and the party was that afternoon.

AUDIE CORNISH, HOST:

They had celebrated their wedding anniversary a few days earlier, and Andre had recently finished building their new home. Relatives told The Washington Post that when the shooting started, Jordan shielded her son and Andre put himself between them and the shooter. Jordan and Andre were both killed, but their baby, named Paul, survived.

SHAPIRO: At least 20 other people were killed on Saturday in El Paso, and dozens more were wounded. We'll be hearing about some of the others elsewhere on today's show.
