Seneca Nation extends grant dollars for projects near Buffalo casino
The Seneca Buffalo Creek Advisory Board has created a grant fund of of $1 million for projects around the downtown Buffalo casino.
The president of the Seneca Nation of Indians, Robert Odawi Porter told WBFO's Jim Pastrick that the Seneca Nation believes the community will benefit.
Porter was joined by State Senator Tim Kennedy and Buffalo Comptroller Mark Schroeder who talked about the benefits of a partnership with the Seneca Nation.
The process announced Monday is a result of nine months of meetings involving the Seneca Nation Council, Erie County and the City of Buffalo, including the South Buffalo Chamber of Commerce and Valley Community Association.
Grants in value from $10,000 to $100,000 will be awarded after review by the Seneca Buffalo Creek Development Advisory Board.
