Niagara Falls Police say they've discovered the body of a missing woman. 67-year-old Judith Burr of the Falls was found this morning during a search for her.
Burr has been missing since last Friday. A search party was formed with about 100-family members, friends and firefighters. Police say her body was found about three blocks from where her car was located.
Falls Police Detective Michael Trane tells WBFO her body was discovered in an area off 102nd Street.
"At about 9:35 a.m. she was found in a wooded area which was just east of 102nd Street in the city," said Trane.
Police say they don't know what caused her death at this time.
"There was no outward sign of trauma, but we won't have a cause of death until a complete medical exam is done," said Trane.
Burr's husband said he saw her last on Friday at their home around noon. Her vehicle was found near a senior center off Colvin Boulevard an hour later. Witnesses say they reported seeing her in the parking lot.
Burr's car was found with her purse and other belongings inside later in the day, but no one knows where she may have gone. The volunteer search party gathered at the corner of 102nd Street and Colvin Boulevard in the Falls at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
"We don't believe she had any type of physical or mental aliments," said Detective Trane.
