Niagara County SPCA taking steps to restoring its integrity

The Niagara County SPCA has taken another step toward restoring the agency's integrity.  Following the removal of Executive Director John Faso, the Board of Directors has named Dr. Grant Hobika as it's temporary leader.

Dr. Hobika has a Lewiston based small-animal practice and will be in charge of all veterinary care at the Niagara County SPCA.

Faso was fired after an investigation uncovered the inhumane treatment of animals.

Local attorney Paul Cambria is serving as an advisor to the agency's Board.

"The board realizes that things were wrong, they agree with the findings and are taking steps to fix it," said Cambra.

Cambria also said that all of the existing Board members will resign their seats as part of the overhaul.  Members currently serving are doing so only to keep the facility operational until replacements are identified and put in place.
